Students will engage in the process of analysing, designing, pattern cutting and manufacturing clothes. Exploring a variety of primary and secondary sources for research, compiling the findings, and translating them into both 2D and 3D outcomes. Practising a variety of techniques for communicating silhouette and detail through drawing, shape making, toiling and sampling. BA Fashion Design and Technology has an excellent reputation for producing menswear, womenswear and sportswear graduates who combine design innovation with an in-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of fashion design and manufacturing. The University is pleased to offer our students a free printing allowance of £20 each academic year.

Critiques will involve you and your peers discussing and giving feedback on each other’s work. This will prepare you for life in the fashion industry where you’ll need to listen to – and not be upset by – constructive criticism. Working in partnership is fundamental to everything that we do in the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education; we could not achieve the things we do if we worked in isolation.
